Australian cello nomad and composer Judith Hamann presents music from her impressive double release "Shaking Studies" and "Music for Cello and Humming". "Shaking Studies" uses micro and macro pulses to explore different types of shaking and their influence on timbre and overtone structures - while also bringing electronic sounds into play. The intimate "humming pieces" emerged from Hamann's studies of pure tuning, psychoacoustic phenomena and the relationship of the voice to the body read as female in performance contexts. Quiet, highly concentrated music that immerses itself in resonances and the finest intermediate tones of the cello sound.
