Jazz at Green Room: Lennart Allkemper Quartett
With Roman Babik on piano, Martin Gjakonovski on bass and Niklas Walter on drums, the young Cologne saxophonist and composer Lennart Allkemper has found three excellent instrumentalists to breathe life into his latest compositions:
Unadorned, elegantly staged modern jazz, in which the roots of tradition spill out in colorful blooms in wide-ranging, warmly singing melodic arcs. The quartet inevitably grooves its way into the listener's head with strong melodies and guaranteed catchiness.
