SOUNDSGOOD Showcase-Festival: Jin Jim, Matti Klein Soul Trio, Ron Minis Trio

We celebrate 5 years of "SOUNDSGOOD"! Music that moves between the genre drawers and is on the tooth of time. Jazz with a difference - that's what SOUNDSGOOD stands for! For the anniversary festival in the Stadtgarten present themselves with the local heroes Jin Jim, the Berlin groove machine - the Matti Klein Soul Trio and the trio of the blue-bearded, Israeli pianist Ron Minis, a renowned cross-section of the roster of the young music agency. Sounds good? SOUNDSGOOD!

Jin Jim.
Jin Jim are among the "absolute high-flyer bands in the German jazz scene" (NDR). Their stormy success was based on the innovation they achieve with their music: Latin, jazz and rock merge here with unprecedented force: rhythmically highly complex, but harmonically accessible, with influences ranging from flamenco to Indian music and pop. A band with perfect harmony that captivates at the latest when flautist Daniel Manrique-Smith beatboxes parallel to his playing. To be heard at the big festivals all over the world (15 countries!) and at home in Cologne!

Matti Klein Soul Trio
Somewhat exaggerated, Matti Klein could also be called the "Berlin Groove God", taking into account how many successes Klein celebrated not only with his former band Mo'Blow, as musical director of Ed Motta, but now also with his own trio, the Matti Klein Soul Trio. Although the five years since the founding of the Soul Trio have been marked mainly by Corona, the band has not let itself be stopped from grooving-soul-funking through the world in its usual style: Borneo Jazz Festival, Jazz&The City Salzburg and many others in trio-reinform, but also in gala style, whether with symphony orchestra or guest singer Max Mutzke... Groove art at its best!

Ron Minis Trio
He blue-bearded Ron Minis is a multi-instrumentalist who invites you to dream and dance at the same time with virtuosic and rhythmic patterns. With his jazz trio, he moves between lyrical phrases and energetic rhythms, and his songs are hard to beat for diversity. A trained classical pianist, practicing punk guitarist and now jazz trio leader, he is rightly unimpressed by genre boundaries, calling "brutal jazz" the home of his music. When he switches between distorted grand piano and electric guitar during concerts, and the transition blurs, it becomes clear what he means.
