In the new project "Voices" the encounter with different musical cultures will also serve as an "inspirational soil". The artists participating in the SONIQ projects take on the role of travellers who are inspired by a foreign cultural environment to take independent artistic action - but not the role of tourists who scratch the surface of another culture in order to retreat back into their proven cultural environment after a series of exotic kicks.
For "Voices" SONIQ could win the avant-garde singer Mariana Sadovska, rooted in the Ukrainian tradition, the Moroccan singer and multi-instrumentalist Majid Bekkas as well as the Indian vocalist Sandhya Sanjana.
