Soniq: Percussion!

Das Konzert ist reihenbestuhlt - es erfolgt eine feste Sitzplatzvergabe über den Vorverkauf bzw. die Abendkasse sowie die Kontaktdatenerfassung zur Rückverfolgbarkeit. Die Mund-Nasen-Bedeckungspflicht gilt auch auf den Sitzplätzen während des Konzerts. Die geltenden Hygienevorschriften im Haus sind zu beachten.

It's ancient. It reaches back into myth and is at the same time the object of myth. It is widespread. Whether Asia, Africa, Europe, North or South America: the drum was and is found on almost all continents. Percussion connects the parts of the world, but also separates them through the different uses and the infinitely varied forms of the instruments. Drumming means nothing more than imposing a division on the flowing time. No matter where someone is born or listens to music, percussion instruments are present everywhere.

PERCUSSION! - the current project of the musician collective SONIQ around Christina Fuchs, Jarry Singla and Ramesh Shotham - is a homage to the elemental force of the rhythms and drums of this earth, to the origins of music.

SONIQ invites two outstanding musicians to join them:
The Moroccan Rhani Krija is one of the most sought-after international percussionists. World stars like Sting, Dominic Miller or Al Di Meola engage him for their projects.
Stefan Bauer, a vibraphonist and marimba player who was born in NRW and has lived in NYC for many years, is active in a wide field between tradition and avant-garde. He has collaborated with jazz greats such as Kenny Wheeler, Adam Nussbaum and Charlie Mariano.
