No King. No Crown. is an indie folk project around singer and songwriter René Ahlig, who started his career already at the age of 13. After finding his musical home while traveling the world, he released his first folk-pop album "Heart to Escape" in 2012, and his second LP "Without Yesterday" in 2016. In between, he toured tirelessly throughout Europe. He also made the rounds online, making it into the Top30 singer-songwriter charts on iTunes and "Newcomer of the week" on Ampya with "Without Yesterday." For the third album "Smoke Signals" (2019), No King. No Crown. with the support of Initiative Musik for the first time as a band in the studio to condense their musical style between indie folk, chamber pop and singer-songwriter into a new indie folk sound: With roots in the acoustic realm and influences from electronica and ambient, the Dresdeners managed to set further milestones - over 4 million views on Spotify, more than a 1 million views on Youtube. Not only digitally they could shine with presence: In 2019, the band played a total of 55 concerts in Germany, Switzerland and England. To build on the success of the last record, No King. No Crown. directed by Philipp Makolies (Woods of Birnam, ex-Polarkreis18), disappeared into the studio in the summer of 2020 and recorded five new tracks, which will be brought to light in 2021.

For our Green Room concert, No King No Crown will play an exclusive solo concert.

Saguru
The beginning of the day. The light, the autumn, the depth: Saguru writes songs that hold great expanse. They carry the melancholic darkness, but always also the departure, the outlook, the clear and light. The moment after the rain.

Munich-based Chris Rappel founded Saguru in 2016, drawing inspiration from heroes like Alex Turner, Bon Iver and Ben Howard and releasing his first songs. Just 25 years old, Saguru now finds the core of its own sound. A voice that radiates many more years of life than Rappel counts. The precisely worked out and colorful sound of the recordings, the combination of guitar, radiant vocals and gentle yet powerful electronica: all this makes Saguru a gem, a treasure chest.

Breaking routines, learning to deal with growing alienation, moods in limbo, the vastness, running as escape: themes and images of Saguru. Themes and images with urgency. The rising mist in the forest at the beginning of the day. The light, the autumn, the depth.
