„Das Etablissement der Tatsachen“ - Szenische Lesung und Live-Elektronik

Sound and Laboratory. Accompanied by a live electronic music quartet, Berlin-based visual artist Alice Creischer stages her scenic long poem "Das Etablissement der Tatsachen" (2012) for the first time for a stage situation. Directed by Creischer, the complex textual body of scenes, footnotes, text fragments, and coded poems will be performed with local Performer:innen in the form of an improvised live radio play. "The Establishment of Facts" is Alice Creischer's artistic-critical exploration of the notion of the laboratory, developed in England in the 17th century, "a disciplined space where experimental, discursive, and social practices were collectively controlled by competent members."

Alice Creischer (born 1960 in Gerolstein, studied in Düsseldorf, lives in Berlin) is known for her profound and detailed environments in which painting, collage, and sculpture combine with poetic and critical text works to create a complex narrative. In 2007, for documenta 12 in Kassel, together with the artist Andreas Siekmann and the conductor and composer Christian von Borries, she staged her work-critical music theater "At Once and At the Same Time. A feasibility study - musical scenes on the negation of work". In 2022, her postcolonial exhibition project "Potosí-Prinzip", curated together with Andreas Siekmann and Max Jorge Hinderer Cruz, was on view in Cologne at the Academy Space of the Academy of World Arts.

Especially for the reiheM evening with Alice Creischer, Michael Anacker (aka. "Kallabris", musician and professor of philosophy, Bochum), Angela Fette (painter and performance artist, Düsseldorf), Timo Hein (musician, Düsseldorf) and Christian Jendreiko (artist, musician and professor of design and strategies of digital communication, Düsseldorf) were recruited as a group of local representatives of experimental live electronics, who have already performed together in countless contexts of exhibitions, actions, lecture situations and concerts.

The concert is presented by reiheM - concert series for contemporary music, electronics and new media, organized by Mark e.V. and sponsored by the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne and the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
