Paul Heller invites Tenor Summit Vol. 2
Nachholtermin vom 12.12.2021 - bereits gekaufte Karten behalten ihre Gültigkeit.
Almost five years ago, there was already a rousing Tenor Summit, now follows a new edition of the summit with no less than four tenor saxophonists. "My three colleagues are also extremely important for my career," says Paul Heller. "I have a long history with Roman Schwaller, I practically grew up with Tony Lakatos, and John Ruocco is something of a legend for me, whom I already enjoyed listening to a lot with Peter Herbolzheimer's Rhythm Combination & Brass." Born in the USA and a long-time resident of the Netherlands, Ruocco succeeds Johannes Enders in Tenor Summit Vol. 2, enriching the wind ensemble with his distinctive boppy voice, which is no less capable of empathizing with chamber music subtleties. Says Heller: "For me, it's the crowning achievement to invite all of them, who are familiar and close to me from so many musical and personal contexts, to Tenor Summit to let loose with them on our ancestral instrument."
Roman Schwaller (saxophone), Tony Lakatos (saxophone), John Ruocco (saxophone), Paul Heller (saxophone), Martin Sasse (piano), Thomas Stabenow (double bass), Niklas Walter (drums)
