Paul Heller invites Jeff Cascaro’s Enterprise Big Band

"One more time"

Hand on heart: Are you familiar with the "Enterprise Big Band"? If so, you certainly remember with pleasure a rousing, grooving ensemble the size of a small big band that played a number of concerts in the early 1990s - for two, three or even four years, recalls Paul Heller. "It was still in the pre-digital era, after all, and there's no documentation of it. In any case, we played together a lot and with pleasure, before everyone then went his own ways." Now he developed the idea of inviting the old companions once again - to a concert in the series "Paul Heller invites" in the Stadtgarten, which will also make the hearts and ears of all those who do not yet know the "Enterprise Big Band".

Paul Heller, who was still playing in the youth jazz orchestra at the time, and Jeff Cascaro, who had just won the national "Jugend jazzt" competition as an 18-year-old singer, already knew each other before 1990. Their musical friends were joined by Jörg-Achim Keller, not only a perfect big-band drummer, but also an arranger who gave the band a tailor-made suit in the irrepressibly swinging style of Marty Paich Dek-Tette (with Mel Tormé). This combined congenially with the voice of Jeff Cascaro, who in his inimitable way knows how to put jazz, soul and blues in proportion. "And this is the music we want to play once again today," Paul Heller looks forward to a "soloist band that brings out the best in everyone."
