NICA live: Rebekka Salomea Ziegler presents Chuala

NICA live presents not only the music and projects of the NICA artists themselves, but also musicians and bands they appreciate and would like to bring to a local audience. Singer Rebekka Salomea Ziegler – NICA artist 2022 – now invites the progressive artist Chuala to Cologne.

Lush layered vocals, swirling harmonies, smooth as well as brute electric guitar sounds and diffusely driving percussion – this is how the sound world of musician, producer, DJ and author Chuala can be described. The 25-year-old has been writing songs since she was 14. With the tenor horn and other instruments, Chuala gained her first stage experiences in her youth as part of jazz bands and classical orchestras. Discovered and promoted by Atlantic Records in New York, she moved to Berlin at 16 to work as a songwriter. After releasing her two self-produced EPs "2mydeadfather" in 2020 and "me and chu" in 2021, she released three singles this year, of which "meet me in the middle" is the most recent. The release of her new EP is scheduled for early 2023. Inspired by her various musical influences, Chuala innovatively creates exciting music somewhere between future R'n'B, pop and house.
