With OWN YOUR BONES, saxophonist Jonas Engel ranges between the energy of free jazz power play and the emotionality of contemplative, chamber music sounds. The symbiosis of two saxophones, embedded by the supporting unity of drums and double bass. The joint joy of playing is the essential element of the band, which is not limited by the complex compositions, rather it is stimulated by them. Since its foundation, the ensemble has been able to develop its music continuously on many tours and concerts. Having just returned from a long tour throughout Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany, they will soon release their latest album, recorded during long dinners in the South of France, on Tangible Music. For the concert in the Green Room of Stadtgarten, Jonas Engel invites singer and vocal artist Thea Soti. The two have a long-standing musical collaboration.

THEA SOTI (HU/SRB) is a multidisciplinary artist working in the fields of experimental vocal music, electronic sound, installation, text-based media and video art. She uses digitally manipulated sound, human voice, and poetry in various formats, continuously twisting, manipulating, recycling her own voice, transforming it into sounds or melodies, and alternating between recognizably human and distorted vocal material. Most of Soti's works are closely related to our means of communication and explore the complexity of affection and intimacy. Her main goal is to re-contextualize the human voice and challenge the preconceptions associated with it by pushing the boundaries of what a human voice can sound like. She has worked and toured internationally from New York, Paris, Copenhagen, London, Budapest, Belgrade, Berlin, Moscow, Marrakech to Tokyo and has been invited as artist-in-residence to Sonoscopia Porto (PT), JAZZAJ/BMC Budapest (HU ), Balassi Institute Brussels (BE), Tarabya Cultural Academy (TR) in Istanbul or Cité internationale des Arts in Paris (FR). In her solo performance she explores the boundaries of gender, language, memory and social belonging by exploring the human voice in a digital context. She questions the contemporary meaning of binary gender, geographically defined cultural heritage, borders, traditional social codes, thus exploring virtual and posthuman identities through the voice.
