NICA live: Janning Trumann presents "Ernte"
The harvest is reaped! It's high time to blow the horn again. Four jazz musicians dedicate themselves to a repertoire of the 20th century, which in many cases was the harvest of their (crisis) time: resistance songs, workers' songs, partisan songs and fight songs against fascism. The sowing of our time and the prevailing global politics will possibly give us a harvest that will hardly be digestible anymore - not least in agricultural and food politics. Therefore, true to the motto "He who sows the wind will reap the whirlwind", Harvest plays music with and in protest. Without lyrics, but with great joy of playing and everything that jazz has to offer for this: Improvisation, unpredictability, energy, transcendence and a trace of melancholy.
Benjamin Weidekamp (alto saxophone, clarinet), Uli Kempendorff (clarinet, tenor saxophone), Kaspar von Grünigen (bass), David Meier (drums)
