Pulses, fine interactions within joint noise-sound surfaces that glide along in a leisurely, relaxed manner and are nevertheless always in a state of transformation. This is how the music of the quartet around pianist and synthesizer player Philip Zoubek - NICA artist since 2020 -, trumpeter Franz Hautzinger, electronics player Ignaz Schick and drummer and percussionist Tony Buck could be briefly described. To be added: diverse percussion sounds, bowed sounds, glissandi, sounds that come about via diverse preparation of the instruments.

A meeting of four extraordinary improvising musicians, on their way in musical border areas. Zoubek loves sound research and in the context of 'NICA live' he once again shares the stage with like-minded people who are united by an individual approach to their instruments and a sensitive handling of musical form. An evening between acoustic chamber music, electronics and ambient.

'The Loft Sessions', Silt's latest album was released in May 2022 via impakt Records. Impakt e.V. (Improvisation & Current Music Cologne) is a collective of young musicians from Cologne, whose focus is free improvised music.
