The Marie Krüttli Trio around the namesake, the drummer Gautier Garrigu and the bassist Lukas Traxel does not need to fear the comparison with the really big names. They present themselves playful and daring. Music of high relevance is created here, with mature tone, clear aesthetics and beguiling virtuosity. Casually, the Swiss woman maneuvers herself and her bandmates through intricate rhythms and intricate chains of chords. In doing so, she appears neither cerebral nor spasmodically intentional. On the contrary, the melodies shimmer with groove and joy of playing. The musicians present themselves charmingly and with a lot of subtle wit - no irony, but clear, truly original approaches and ideas, deeply rooted in the European piano tradition and influenced by the sound ideals of Stravinsky and Debussy.
