Malcolm Mooney comes back to Cologne. As the first singer of the legendary band Can, he had an indelible influence on music history. With his intense and powerful voice, he led through the band's early years, pushing boundaries and breaking genre conventions. With Can, Mooney created albums like "Monster Movie" and "Soundtracks" that established a revolutionary sound. His singing was a combination of ecstasy and expression that elevated the band to a level of creativity all its own. As part of his exhibition at the Max Mayer Gallery in Düsseldorf, which opens July 7, we bring Mooney back to the city where it all began for him. Here he meets the wondrous collective Montel Palmer, with whom he will play at his concert. Swan Meat will round out the evening with a DJ set.
