In his concerts, the Cologne-based singer bridges the gap between his own compositions and arrangements from modern jazz, mainstream jazz and pop influences. The boundaries are blurred by his warm, unique sound and the clear signature in the interplay with the rhythm section.
His big band program is composed of his own and other people's arrangements of his own pieces and arrangements. Here he appears as bandleader, singer and rhythm section player and also mixes the program with passages in duo or accompanying alone on the piano. From modern textless vocal features with tutti to very nicely lyricized solo verses from film scores, the amplitude is not only stylistically but also dynamically very large.
