Le Pop La Série : Mélanie Pain (Nouvelle Vague)

Le Pop has had a long friendship with Mélanie Pain. The Nouvelle Vague singer lent the label her hit "La cigarette" for the compilation Le Pop 4 even before her solo debut. The piece about a cigarette as a pledge of love was her first French-language piece and thus the beginning of her career as a chanson singer. She has remained true to the style she adopted then to this day. With a preference for powerful, melancholic-romantic and guitar-heavy songs. Three solo albums and a beautiful EP (2020) Melanie Pain has released so far, despite her main job with Nouvelle Vague. She is currently working on a new album with Brian Lopez (Calexico), whose solo debut, by the way, also appeared on Le Pop.
