Kompott feat. Dobranotch (live)
Oy vey! We are living in difficult times and it seems like there is no reason to be joyful. Well, why not be cheerful when even the holy Talmud says that jokers (people who cheer up the sad) go to paradise. Rabbi Nachman, the great-grandson of the Baal Shem Tov, the founder of Eastern European Hasidism and an explicit jokester, left his followers some instructions for difficult times: "Make a habit of dancing. Dancing defeats melancholy and drives away tiredness." Incidentally, Rabbi Nachman promised anyone who followed his instructions that if they went to hell, he would pull them out by the hair.
The band Dobranotch knows all about having fun in difficult times: With their wild, frenetic mix of klezmer, Balkan, brass and dub, every soul is embraced and made to dance. Dobranotch began their musical adventure more than twenty years ago in the French city of Nantes. Since then, you can hear the boundless, anarchic energy of their music. The wild "dervishes" mix Balkan sounds with klezmer and gypsy and have already performed in more than twenty countries. The band is constantly reinventing itself and hasn't slowed down a bit since its beginnings.
Incidentally, Rabbi Nachman also said: "Through joy comes peace into the world." And we all want that so much. And as we all know, miracles happen on Hanukkah.
Come to the KOMPOTT CHANUKKA PARTY WITH DOBRANOTCH LIVE on stage and you are guaranteed to enter paradise. And if you get the wrong door, we'll pull you out of hell by the hair. During this time, good deeds such as partying, dancing until you drop and drinking alcohol count double for karma. Your loyal Kompott DJs will mediate between light and darkness, East and West with a music repertoire as broad as they are. Supervised drinking and dancing are guaranteed.
