Jazz at JAKI: Lars Møller & Friends

The Scandinavian saxophone virtuoso and composer Lars Møller comes on his European tour between London and Paris also to Cologne and has invited for this concert especially from the Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestras musicians, which he got to know and appreciate a year ago in the big band context. Lars Møller made his debut in the 1990s when he performed and recorded with the legendary Jimmy Cobb, Billy Hart and Hermeto Pascoal. Since then he has been searching for connections between Indian or South American music and his contemporary jazz backgroundand incorporating them into his compositions for small groups and large ensembles. Lars Møller's repertoire is versatile; funky grooves with "hiccups," Indian and Scandinavian music emotions, fine and expressive compositions are to be expected.
