The "Julius van Rhee Sextet" brings together six young, idiosyncratic musicians in an exciting Modern Creative Jazz project.
Together they combine the contrasts of simplicity and complexity. Strong, vocal melodies meet surprising rhythms and dense harmonies.
The individual and very different personalities of the musicians merge and create an unmistakable sound. The courage to try things out and the willingness to take risks of Pascal Klewer (trp) and Lukas Wilmsmeyer (g) meet the musical foresight and of Jakob Obleser (b) and Felix Ambach (dr), and through the empathic playing of Yannis Anft (p) and the soulful sound of Julius van Rhee (sax), the music becomes accessible and touching.
