Jazz at JAKI: Andreas Feith Quartett
With his current quartet, the busy pianist Andreas Feith presents himself as a melodically visionary instrumental virtuoso of the current jazz generation. Together with Echo Jazz Award winner Lutz Häfner and the two Europe-wide active Martin Gjakonovski and Fabian Arends, here is a band on stage that immediately knows how to captivate its audience. Their determined American-influenced playing style paired with the colorful, partly impressionistic sound world of Feith's compositions results in a delightful field of tension in which the musicians spur each other on to ever new improvisational flights of fancy. In doing so, the four individualists mesh precisely like small gears, incessantly in motion, in permanent interaction and yet always grounded. The result is a flowing music with suction effect, full of dancing drive and sparking narrative power, which touches, inspires and has a long-lasting effect.
Their second album "Dance of the Scarabs" has just been released on the renowned Munich label ENJA.
