Jazz at Green Room: Joachim Lenhardt Quartett
The saxophonist Joachim Lenhardt unites in his compositions a multitude of different influences and merges them into jazz in the broadest sense without feeling bound by stylistic boundaries.
With a preference for beautiful melodies and colorful harmonies, Lenhardt composes pieces that leave the musicians plenty of room for interaction and the development of improvisational ideas. In addition, the compositions reflect his intensive exploration of rhythmic aspencies in music over the past years.
Lenhardt moved to Cologne in 2020 and brings together in his new Cologne band with Jonathan Hofmeister on piano and Mareike Wiening on drums top-class companions from his old adopted home Franconia, supported by the fabulous bassist Calvin Lennig.
