"Sometimes you've got to express yourself because if you don't you'll explode, and I Felt like I was going to explode" says songwriter and producer Caroline Rose about her album "The Art of Forgetting" due out in March.
After a series of heartbreaking events, Rose had no desire to record a new album. It was a time of contemplation and transformation, a time to slow down. What resulted is what the artist sees as a gradual coming-to-self and growth. "I wrote songs the way I did when I was a kid. It was more like therapy, just sitting on my bed and writing about my feelings. It sounds so simple, but I had really moved away from that." Dozens of songs followed, and a story became clearer:
"The Art of Forgetting" is a pivotal release for Caroline Rose - an artist who has made a name for herself with her wit and satirical storytelling. It's an album bursting with raw, intense emotion. Layers of arrangements ranging from Balkan-influenced melodies to Gregorian autotune choruses, synthesizers push and pull to create a hugely dynamic soundscape. Lyrically, the album contains a confessional honesty that we've only glimpsed from Rose's previous works.
As early as May of this year, we can look forward to experiencing this album live on stages across Germany.
