Blue Art Orchestra presents: Dysteuropia

A highlight of the BAO's concert on Sept. 25, 2022 in Cologne's STADTGARTEN will be the graphic novel "DYSTEUROPIA" by Düsseldorf artist Gianni Sammarro and composer and arranger Darrell Wyatt (Leverkusen) in the first set. Both have created a brand new multimedia work with "DYSTEUROPIA". Within this graphic novel they deal with the social drama of the current, complex refugee movement and the extremely contradictory social reactions to migration issues in general. To the visuals of Gianni Sammarro, Darrell Wyatt and the Blue Art Orchestra provide the musical layer of this genre-transcending work of art.

In the second set, Georg Ruby and the BAO present excerpts from the orchestra's current bandbook: Music by legendary Belgian pianist and arranger Francy Boland (Clarke-Boland Big Band), recent arrangements by Italian arranger Massimo Morganti, and compositions by Christina Fuchs and Georg Ruby. In the process, the BAO presents Cologne vocalist Barbara Barth as a feature soloist and as a "color" acting without lyrics and integrated into the band context.
