In times when productivity and creative potential is measured almost exclusively by the product sound carrier (especially those under his own name), he may seem like an artist from times long past. But Gerd Dudek can live with that: Although there is no lack of records and radio recordings in which he is involved, the saxophonist has been present for decades, and for a jazz musician that means first of all: on stages.

Pianist Martin Sasse has been Dudek's quartet partner for many years and inspires with his joy of playing, groove and deep harmonic wisdom.

To do justice to the title, WDR Big Band saxophonist Paul Heller expands the quartet to a quintet on this unique evening.
