Mysterious, radical, scary in parts: these are the first attributes that come to mind when listening to SCARLXRD's tracks. Since 2016 they have been haunting the Internet and brought international attention to the young man from Wolverhampton. Born in 1994, the MC and producer is developing into a new sensation in the UK rap scene these days with his brutally hard hip hop tracks, which in the best sense are described as postmodern. More than 100 million plays on Spotify and almost half a million Twitter followers speak a clear language: With its hardcore tunes born on the street and conceived in well-equipped basement studios, SCARLXRD currently hits the nerve of a young audience between rap, trap and hardcore. On 27 and 28 March he returns to Germany for two concerts in Cologne and Frankfurt.

At the age of 17, the self-made musician Marius Listhrop opened his first YouTube channel and presented his first version of contemporary rap music under the pseudonym Mazzi Maz. He subsequently released a number of vlogs and collaborated with other YouTube artists such as Casper Lee and the Jake Boys. But he himself found that his solo works did not yet show the significance and independence that he expected of himself.

He ended his YouTube channel in 2014 and joined the Nu-Metal and Grindcore band Myth City, where he was frontman for two years. Myth City toured across Great Britain several times and talent scouts were regarded as a new discovery between hard rap and powerful grooving rock. Two years later Listhrop left the band again and started his solo career again, enriched by many experiences. For this restart he chose the name SCARLXRD.

That was at the end of 2016. Since then the star of the young MC has been rising continuously. Stylistically he reminds a little of a pointed, radical and in moments uncontrollable version of Dizzee Rascal or Drake. He plays in his songs with genres like Trap, Hardcore and Dubstep and processes many sounds never heard before in this form. After some first tracks, like the single "Heart Attack", which brings it to almost 35 million spotify plays alone, his first album "スカー藩主" was released in October 2016. Since then, he has released an amazing six more albums, three of them in 2017 alone.

SCARLXRD's music is the perfect soundtrack for the distortions of the postmodern world. After having already inspired the audience in Berlin and Hamburg with his intense show in November, SCARLXRD will now present his current album "Infinity" on 27 March in Cologne and on 28 March in Frankfurt.
