Concert

Pablo Giw & Rebekka Salomea by Nathan Ishar & Karl F. Degenhardt

CANCELLED: NICA PRESENTS Good Friday: Elisabeth Coudoux, Pablo Giw & Tamara Lukasheva

Duo Lukasheva/Gramss // FRAUFRANKE50KILOHERTZ // Rebekka Salomea & Pablo Giw

Good Friday is one of the so-called "silent holidays" in Germany. On these days, "all events serving entertainment" are prohibited. According to current case law, these are performances "which are intended to provide a pleasant pastime, conviviality, and rest and relaxation". However, events are permitted which deal with the topics "mourning, remembrance of the dead and inner reflection". With this in mind, we have invited three artists from the NICA artist development programme, which was launched in autumn 2019 in the Stadtgarten, to each prepare a 25-minute programme and give this special evening a musical dimension.
Duo Lukasheva/Gramss
Der Sound, the word, silence.Tamara Lukasheva sets German poetry to music: Theodor Fontane, Hildegard von Bingen, Clara Müller-Jahnke. Sometimes tender, sometimes mysterious, like a walk in the fog and the next moment intense and haunting. She is accompanied by one of the most exciting double bass players on the German jazz scene: Sebastian Gramss.

FRAUFRANKE50KILOHERTZ
Das Project by Tina Tonagel and Elisabeth Coudoux combines digital and analogue technologies to create a self-contained stage scenario. An audiovisual performance with antique cello, traditional horse head violin, historical overhead projector, kinetic objects, self-made instruments, electromechanical installations and a dose of humour. For Good Friday, the two of them create a dignified contribution on the subject of mourning and death in their own way.
Rebekka Salomea & Pablo Giw
Das Electronic and the organic in combination, air that turns into melancholy and then into a slow beat. The search for the spirit of the times within oneself and the perfect melody for a moment. The Cologne singer Rebekka Salomea, known with her experimental hip hop band SALOMEA and the NICA artist Pablo Giw will make their debut as a duo in this concert.
