One reason most started to get deeply involved with music in the first place may have been the hope of finding some kind of conviction and wild rawness. Like Hurray For The Riff Raff's, manifesto about survival, "Life on Earth".

Visionary musician Alynda Segarra is an outsider in whose voice you might find an echo of your own. On her eighth album, "Life on Earth," she creates music full of honesty and empathy. "I feel like I'm always leaving clues in my songs and I hope my listeners follow the breadcrumbs" says Segarra. On Life on Earth, maybe they will, because she's chosen a topic that affects us all: our relationship with the natural world. "You could call Life on Earth survival music for the end times" continues Segarra. "However, it's not just about survival, but about learning to thrive and realizing how important it is to adapt and learn from nature."

On her emotionally intense album, Segarra constructs an alternate reality - or, in her words after fleeing New Orleans because of Hurricane Ida, "a soundtrack to evacuation." It begins with the haunting call to action in the song "Wolves" and concludes with the song "Saga" the journey to see herself not just as a survivor:r, but as a joyful, strong person defined not just by the trauma she experienced.

In September 2022 Hurray For The Riff Raff will be on stage for us in Cologne and Berlin and let us participate in her new album in her personal way. Quite naturally, that is.
