At the end of this year's CCJO concert series in the Stadtgarten, the band invites Claudio Puntin, one of the most creative clarinet soloists of the current contemporary music scene, to join them. Puntin, who has been based in Cologne for many years, has worked with the biggest names in the world, such as Steve Reich, Hermeto Pascoal, Maria Schneider and the Ensemble Modern, and won the WDR Jazz Prize in 2004. His own music, which is immortalized on labels such as ECM, ACT or Deutsche Grammophon, looks far beyond jazz boundaries to electronic music and collaborations with dance performance theaters.
Tonight, Malte Schiller, one of the most promising young German arrangers, has arranged a program of his own pieces and jazz standards for him.
This concert is part of the series Komponistenlandschaft NRW and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Science NRW.
