Le Pop La Série: Jérôme Minière

Jérôme Minière has never rested on his laurels. At the beginning of his career, he belonged to a small clique of French avant-garde pop, which also included Dominique A, Holden and Françoiz Breut, who released on the Lithum label from Nantes. His groundbreaking second album La Nuit Éclaire Le Jour Qui Suit, which artfully combined chanson and electronic music, dates from this period. Since then, Jérôme Miniere has repeatedly switched between acoustic pop and computer sounds and developed new approaches through this interplay. From the wonderful album Le Petit Cosmonaute (2003) to his latest, equally enchanting release La Mélodie, Le Fleuve Et La Nuit (2022), he has developed a style that can be described as delicate, humorous and poetic. Since 2019, Jérôme Minière, who is also active on the Québec scene as a producer and film composer, can be seen on stage for the first time outside his adopted French-Canadian homeland.
