Simon Oslender Super Trio feat. Will Lee & Wolfgang Haffner #2
"Peace Of Mind" Album Release
Considered a rising star of the European jazz scene, German keyboardist and composer Simon Oslender displays an artistic maturity that his young age would not suggest. After his acclaimed debut album "About Time" (2020), the 24-year-old wunderkind now reveals more of himself on his second album "Peace of Mind".
Here, the Aachen pianist, keyboardist and (Hammond) organist not only once again combines his knack for emotional melodies and exciting harmonic twists with deep grooves in his atmospheric original compositions, but was also able to engage two living jazz legends: the U.S. bassist Will Lee (among others. James Brown, Horace Silver, Patti Austin, George Benson, D'Angelo) and the German drummer Wolfgang Haffner (Albert Mangelsdorff, Pat Metheny, Randy & Michael Brecker, Chaka Khan and Klaus Doldingers Passport, among others), who also appears as co-producer of the album and with whom Oslender has had an intensive musical collaboration for several years.
Right from the first moment, there was a spark between the three exceptional musicians in the studio, which is why they decided to celebrate this special connection live on an exclusive record release tour.
"This album is especially close to my heart because its creation was by far the most intense and profound experience I've had in my musical life so far," says Oslender. "I had the opportunity to take enough time to fully engage with the music and let it guide me on the way to the finished work. I learned an insane amount in the process and am incredibly proud of what we created together. It was a very crucial step forward for me personally."
