Frankfurt, September 04, 2020 - The tour of Dutch blues rockers DeWolff, which was already postponed in spring to autumn 2020, has to be postponed again due to the ongoing corona pandemic. The new tour period has now been scheduled for April 2021. Tickets already purchased remain valid.
Seven studio and three live albums, a Dutch Grammy and an album recorded with Black Keys producer Mark Neill - there are many reasons why DeWolff are highly regarded in the rock genre. And the band certainly benefits from its musical range: When bassist Roger Glover heard DeWolff play live, it reminded him of his Deep Purple Mark II formation. When Seasick Steve once woke up backstage, he thought he was in 1972 and the Allman Brothers were playing.
With their current album "Tascam Tapes" the three have produced twelve tracks, which of course have nothing to do with the previous albums. Variety is DeWolff's trump card: This time they didn't use drums, Hammond organ or guitar amplifiers. The album was recorded completely on a portable 4-track cassette recorder from the eighties, only portable instruments and drum samples from old soul and funk records are heard. Why? Because the whole thing was created on tour, in impossible places like in the tour bus, in small backstage areas or at dark highway rest areas. The result is a crude mixture of the Beastie Boys and Deep Purple. You have never heard DeWolff like this before!
