Tom-Tom Club feat. Interplanetary Criminal, Savsannah & DA:MN

What would a city, a scene or a club be without local DJs? The Tom-Tom Club series offers local heroes and new talents a stage and a DJ Booth at Club JAKI. Tom-Tom Club is an open space for exchange, discovery and boundless, genre-free musical adventures - in short, your new favorite club night.

Manchester-based Zachary Bruce aka Interplanetary Criminal has flourished so much over the last years with very strong releases on labels such as Sneaker Social Club and a slick, stripped back 4-track EP on Banoffee Pies. Often sampling catchy R&B and dancehall vocals plus his great feel for arrangement and ultra tight sounding drums, it's no surprise that his music is played extensively on dance floors, radio shows and beyond, particularly by garage and breakbeat fans. Zac's truly a machine in the studio, having become one of Time Is Now's strongest representatives with already three EPs to his name in the space of roughly a year on the much loved Shall Not Fade sub-label for all things UKG & breaks. You'd think that's productive enough? Not in the IPC universe, as he's also started his own "ATW" imprint in 2020 together with his good mate Main Phase, kicking things off with a killer first release and from all we know many more in the planning. His DJ skills are equally impressive, with a distinctly UK sound, he picks some of the finest from garage, rave and dub and puts a lot of thought into the narration of his sets. Make sure you go see him play sometime - you definitely won't be disappointed!

California-born, Cologne-based Savsannah aspires to bring people together through music, community building, and writing. You can find her in different pockets of the city, such as hosting her bi-monthly dublab DE radio show "This Must Be The Place," running the contemporary pop-focused label Safe Space Records, and working with the Papercup Records family. She also co-founded the queer-feminist collective called cumming, and is one of eight members of the DJ collective E.P.I.Q. Savsannah's sets focus on creating a welcoming space where listeners can escape to another world to feel an array of emotions. She intertwines the melodies and vocals of the different genres that weave in and out, focusing on some of her favorite sounds like UK garage, house, bass, breaks, or a fab remix of her fave pop or R&B tracks.

DA:MN's interest for electronic music started at the age of 16, where he began listening to french house artists as Daftpunk, Justice and Breakbot. Alongside his first club and festival experiences especially in the music scene of Amsterdam, his love for techno, house and disco arised and he started to collect and share music with friends which finally led to his passion for djing. Listening to a wide range of different music, his style covers genres as techno, house, trance, garage, breakbeat and dubstep always trying to create an interesting mixture of retro and modern sound.
