The Great Harry Hillman

Der Vorverkauf ist beendet. Es sind noch ausreichend Tickets an der Abendkasse erhältlich.

Eleven years after their formation, The Great Harry Hillman is still the same line-up of four young musicians who are keen to experiment and continue their collective sound. After extensive tours in Europe, Japan and Russia they recorded their fourth album this summer on three evenings in a club in Berlin. After several clean studio productions, this time they tried to make more of the energy and the often surprising moments of a live concert. The band sound lives on sound tissues and atmospheric sound textures, but has become much more energetic and louder in its mixes of jazz, rock and improvisation. The band balances between transparency and exploits and permanently absorbs new influences. In 2015 they won the ZKB Jazz Prize at Moods. Their last album was released on the renowned US label Cuneiform. Their creativity can also be found in the album covers and in the videos with which they often hint to their namesake, the American hurdler and multiple Olympic champion Harry Hillman.

"The Great Harry Hillman - the current definition of what it means to be a new young modern jazz band in these times. Four very strong individual musicians come together to create an extremely personal style of music that could only exist through time invested band chemistry. From fragile melodies, twisted grooves, to massive band climaxes, they deliver flawless and exciting music." - Jim Black
