SONIQ meets Marie Daniels

For ten years, the artist collective SONIQ has stood for musical encounters across cultural boundaries. During this time, they have initiated, developed and performed 13 very different programs. Founded by saxophonist Christina Fuchs, pianist Jarry Singla and percussionist Ramesh Shotham, SONIQ combines influences from jazz, contemporary music, improvisation, folk, electronics and sound traditions to create a joyful sound of the world's cultures.

For its anniversary, SONIQ now meets Cologne-based singer Marie Daniels, who works in the collectives hilde, PENG e.V. and The Dorf & Umland in NRW and opens up new sound spaces with her extraordinary voice and openness to improvised and experimental music.
