Shai Maestro The Guesthouse Quartet

The Guesthouse marks a new chapter in the career of Shai Maestro. Over the course of nearly three years, he created songs that blend the freedom of his improvisational style with focused songwriting and modern production. Jazz meets acoustic and electronic soundscapes, with each track developing its own atmosphere and narrative power.

During the pandemic, Maestro began to delve deeply into music production—thereby expanding his musical horizons far beyond the acoustic traditions that shaped him. Inspired by artists such as Rosalía, Paul Simon, and John Coltrane, he created a multi-layered sound that blends rhythm, harmony, and electronic soundscapes.

Maestro produced many of the tracks in his home studio in Spain, while others were created together with his trio at Nilento Studios in Sweden. For the first time, he is also writing his own lyrics. Personal experiences, his life in Spain, and his exploration of Buddhist philosophy flow directly into the music—making *The Guesthouse* a deeply personal and candid album.
