Robert Gromotka & Jonas Hain
Between Us
Following their sold-out tour in the spring of 2026, the two composers and pianists Robert Gromotka and Jonas Hain are continuing their collaborative work. The piano takes center stage: as a solo instrument, played four-handed, and in ensemble with string players.
Earlier this year, Robert Gromotka and Jonas Hain released their joint album “Between Us”. In it, they explore what arises between people: trust and mistrust, closeness and distance, intimacy and vulnerability. Their music tells of encounters and friction—and of the search for a shared sound. In doing so, two distinct musical backgrounds converge. Robert Gromotka, from Berlin, comes from a background in flute, double bass, bands, and film music; his compositions are characterized by clarity, melody, and minimalism. Jonas Hain, from Munich, found his way to the piano through electronic music and combines classical melancholy with a reduced, fragile musical language in his works. What unites them both is the experience of often solitary composition and the search for artistic resonance.
The concert evening evolves from solo performances to collaborative playing: from solo piano to four-hand pieces, and finally expands to include the string players Felicitas Conrad on cello and Gabriele Kienast on violin. Over the course of the evening, the individual musical elements come together to form a shared sonic space.
