NICA live: Felix Hauptmann PERCUSSION | Release-Konzert

PERCUSSION - the trio around pianist and composer Felix Hauptmann - stands for an intensive musical collaboration characterized by an unmistakable sound language and an extraordinarily communicative interplay. Based on complex rhythmic structures and improvisational cells, Hauptmann, bassist Roger Kintopf and drummer Leif Berger create atmospherically dense soundscapes that open up a fresh approach to contemporary improvisation for their audience. Hauptmann's "aspiration is to make music that is filled with love and warmth; it is a never-ending search for ways to express joy of playing, uncertainty and acceptance through sound."

Since its inception in 2020, the ensemble has released three albums on Boomslang Records; PERCUSSION III will be released on April 17 on Unit Records. International invitations have taken PERCUSSION to Cologne Jazzweek, Bezau Beatz Festival, DurchBruch Festival Stuttgart, Lisbon (Antena 2 Live Radio Broadcast) and numerous stages in Germany. In 2023, the trio was included in the "artists to watch" list. Concerto Magazine praised the "highly concentrated and organically pulsating compositional distillate", while freiStil Magazine emphasized the "class" of the music.
