MUSAÏQ – Internationaler Chor Köln & d'acCHORd
MUSAÏQ is an international choir with about 30 singers. The choir was founded in 2016 and is conducted by the Cologne musician Olivia Sawano. German, Arabic, Finnish, Spanish, Japanese and Kölsch - these and even more languages are spoken and sung in the choir. The repertoire consists of international pop songs, world music, indie or sometimes local Cologne music. The wide range of genres and the good vibes within the group sweep every audience away and spread a good mood. Regular highlights are also the songs, where the audience is animated to sing along and everyone in the hall merges into one big choir.
The young choir d'acCHORd consists of a lot of singerly friends who have been singing together since the beginning of 2013. The idea was born at a flat share party somewhere in Cologne. In the meantime the group has grown to about 45 members and has developed into a likeable and ambitious a cappella choir. Thus d'acCHORd stands for relaxed, varied and demanding arrangements with that certain something. Under the direction of Niklas Genschel, the young choir presents everything from well-known classics to musical insider tips. In 2017 d'acCHORd made it to the semi-final of "The best choir in the West". In 2018 the ChorVerband NRW e.V. awarded the choir the title "Concert Choir" in performance singing.
