Lily Wood & The Prick

Anyone who thinks of the French folk-pop duo Lilly Wood and The Prick will only need a few seconds to have the soothing sounds of the mega-hit "Prayer in C" in their ears. The song, which is included on the 2010 debut album "Invincible Friends" by French-Israeli singer Nili Hadida and guitarist Benjamin Cotto, was originally a peaceful folk splendor carried by flute melodies. However, the version that is best known today is really moving forward - thanks to the beat by Robin Schulz, who gave the song an urban dance vibe four years after its release. The track has amassed over a billion streams to date.

In contrast to "Prayer In C", Lilly Wood and The Prick presented a rougher, guitar-driven sound on the rest of their debut album, which is infused with the soulful voice of Nili Hadida. The second album "The Fight" (2012) was followed four years ago by "Most Anything", the third album by the folk-pop duo, whose sound sounds like the soundtrack to a coming-of-age series just waiting to be filmed.

Now Lilly Wood and The Prick are opening a new chapter with their single "Swear". The song deals with the complex subject of friendship and finds flowery, apt words for what is probably the most beautiful of all types of relationship. Driven by a raw guitar riff, the track embraces the irrepressible energy that has been inherent in the band since its formation in 2006. "Swear" is the first taste of a new work that is expected to be released in spring next year. Just in time for the European tour on which Lilly Wood and The Prick, who have already played all international stages, will present their versatile sound in intimate venues.
