The Cologne-based Jorik Bergman Trio fluently mixes compositions and free improvisation. Jorik Bergman, Victor Gelling and Simon Below have been playing together since 2021 and will be going on tour with a brand new program in autumn 2024. Jorik completed her composition master's degree in Cologne with a 1.0 and has won many prizes, most of them for her own big band. With her trio, however, she takes a smaller approach and honors the here and now. The band's unusual sound, which focuses on the flute's many untapped abilities, leaves plenty of room for interaction and interplay, providing a healthy mix of challenging compositions and improvisation.
