Jazz at JAKI: Eva Buchmann

Belgian singer Eva Buchmann is considered an insider’s pick on the Cologne jazz scene. Among other honors, she has won first prize at the International Voicingers Competition in Poland and the Crest Jazz Vocal Concours in France. With her various band projects, she performs regularly in Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. She is currently the lead vocalist of The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra and a vocal instructor at the Folkwang University of the Arts. Eva Buchmann performs in a wide variety of genres but has never lost her passion for or connection to the classic “American Songbook.”
Eva Buchmann is accompanied by a first-class rhythm section featuring Jerry Lu (piano), Henning Gailing (double bass), and Dutch drummer Gijs Dijkhuizen, who has previously collaborated with greats of the Dutch jazz scene such as the Peter Beets Trio, The Beets Brothers, and the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw.
