Köhler, Hein, Blikslager - a trio that shows how lively and contemporary straight-ahead jazz and hard bop can sound. The three young musicians from Cologne combine the energy of the current scene with the tradition of classic trio playing: saxophone, bass and drums - reduced to the essentials, open to everything.
In addition to selected pieces from the modern jazz repertoire, the focus is primarily on original compositions. The band uses these pieces as a starting point for spontaneous interaction, improvisational freedom and an independent band sound. Sometimes raw and direct, sometimes subtle and thoughtful - always characterized by clear interplay and musical subtlety.
