FROM BEZAU WITH LOVE: Boomslang Records live

Just under 600 kilometers separate the metropolis of Cologne in the river valley landscape of the Rhine from the market town of Bezau with around two thousand inhabitants in the Bregenzerwald in Austria. It was in this picturesque spot that Boomslang Records released its first album in 2003. The drummer and promoter Alfred Vogel, who also runs the BEZAU BEATZ festival in addition to the label, is responsible for the catalog, which now comprises ninety-five releases. FROM BEZAU WITH LOVE is no coincidence: the label and festival are equally known for their friendly and inviting reputation, as well as their openness to a wide range of creative music that positions itself confidently and authentically. You send love to your friends and, in the best case scenario, you meet up, spend time together and enjoy the moment. This is now the case in Cologne, where many of the musicians releasing on Boomslang Records are at home and where people like to get together and linger for a while.

FROM BEZAU WITH LOVE: Boomslang Records live presents four bands that live up to the label's claim in the best sense of the word and bring the curious ramifications of contemporary music to life. Explosive improvised music and original compositions with strong influences from jazz and avant-garde music come from the Altered Forms Trio from Leipzig. An uncompromising showdown of improvisation and sound collision brings How Noisy Are The Rooms?. The trio celebrates creative anarchy as a high-energy experiment between voice, vinyl and drums. The quartet hilde creates an independent sound cosmos with violin, voice, trombone and cello. Between composition and improvisation, the band unfolds a dense, minimalist sound architecture of great depth and suggestive power. The release of the new hilde album coincides with the day of the event. Saxophonist and composer Victor Fox presents his new project as well as the album of the same name PYTHON (release: April 10, 2026) in which he skillfully fuses influences from avant-garde, new music and free improvisation.
