Foggy Notion: The Necks
The Necks are among Australia's greatest cult bands.
Chris Abrahams (piano), Tony Buck (drums), and Lloyd Swanton (bass) create a chemistry that defies conventional description.
With long pieces that unfold slowly in a fascinating way and are often carried by a haunting, deep groove, The Necks’ eighteen albums stand up to repeated listenings.
The deceptive simplicity of their music reveals new charms with every listen. Neither entirely avant-garde, nor minimalism, nor ambient, nor jazz—The Necks’ music is arguably unique in today’s world.
