Eloise
In the music of Eloise, there has always been a clear goal: to make her listeners feel something. Guided by this mantra, the London-based singer-songwriter has been releasing songs since 2019, blending influences from jazz and R&B with modern pop to create captivating ballads. This has led to a growing fan base for Eloise, which even includes stars like Billie Eilish, Sam Smith, and Bruno Major. On June 12, Eloise’s second album “My Man & Me” was released, and the singer will be going on tour this fall. On November 16, she’ll be performing at the Stadtgarten in Cologne.
Eloise Alexandra Lamb grew up in Normandy, France, where music played a major role in her life from an early age. From an early age, she explored her parents’ eclectic record collection, took piano lessons, and sang in a choir. After moving to London, she taught herself to play the guitar via YouTube, which led her to record her first cover songs at age 17, which she posted on Instagram. In 2019, the then 19-year-old Eloise released her debut EP “This Thing Called Living” and demonstrated the emotional depth and extraordinary maturity of her music early on in songs like “Subside,” “You, Dear”, and “Left Side”. In 2021, she followed up with her mini-album “Somewhere In-Between”, which Ones To Watch described with adjectives like “transcendent” and “spiritual,” calling it a “sublime R&B journey” into an “ethereal dream world.” Two years later, the singer released her debut album “Drunk On A Flight”, which the magazine praised for its laid-back vibe and compared to a “Sunday morning reflection,” while NME described it as “an example of the transformative power of pop.” But no matter what metaphors the press may use to describe her music, one thing is clear: Eloise writes her music from the depths of her heart. This is particularly evident in her latest work, “My Man & Me”, which she herself describes as “the ultimate love letter to love.” Inspired by her life since the release of her debut album, “My Man & Me” chronicles the journey of emerging from an old relationship as a completely different version of herself and then falling in love all over again. According to Eloise, the album explores all facets of a relationship—through good times and bad, through storms and sunny days. As the 26-year-old musician herself says, this is the first time she has truly opened up, resulting in a sound that is even more intimate than before.
