Der Literarische Salon mit David Grossmann

Der Salon findet im Overstolzensaal des MAKK statt. Der VVK-Start wird noch bekannt gegeben

David Grossman, born in Jerusalem in 1954, is the best-known Israeli writer of our time. Having already received the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade in Germany, he will be honored with the Thomas Mann Prize in Lübeck on 25 September. As part of his trip, David Grossman will be attending just one more event: in Cologne! Even though he has recently caused a stir with his decisive statements on the Middle East conflict - including his polemic "Peace is the only solution" - we would like to look at his great literary oeuvre in the Literary Salon - and also ask about his connection to Thomas Mann. Grossman became world-famous in particular with his novel "A Woman Flees from a Message", in which he deals with the death of his own son in the final days of the Second Lebanon War in 2006. He was awarded the International Booker Prize for his 2016 novel "Comes a Horse to the Bar". Most recently, Grossman published "Grandpa, why do you have wrinkles?", an enchanting children's book.
