Bugge Wesseltoft is considered one of the most influential pianists and sound artists in Europe. With roots in jazz, but always open to electronic experiments, the Norwegian has pushed the boundaries of the genre like no other since the 1990s. With his iconic album "New Conception of Jazz" (1997) at the latest, he established himself as a pioneer of a new, electronic jazz aesthetic - bridging the gap between tradition and modernity, club and concert hall.

As the founder of the Jazzland Recordings label, he has not only secured his own artistic freedom, but has also provided a platform for numerous innovative voices in Nordic jazz. In collaborations with musicians such as Jan Garbarek, Sidsel Endresen, Terje Rypdal, Henrik Schwarz or in the band Rymden, he has proven time and again how multifaceted and open to dialog his music is.

Bugge Wesseltof's new album "Am Are" is a continuation of his series of solo albums that began in 2007. Inspired by a melancholic downtempo mood, these solo albums always contain hopeful messages or reflect the latest news in the world. "Am Are" presents special musical constellations of excellent musicians that bridge both generations and styles. It is an exploration of sonic textures, dynamic contrasts of mood and style - moving between stripped down arrangements, complex layers of dubs and loops and improvisational interplay.

In the live concert, Bugge Wesseltoft presents the pieces from the album as a soloist. This is where his full depth is revealed: intimate piano passages, fragile electronic textures and a breathtaking emotional directness. Sometimes reduced and meditative, sometimes full of rhythmic energy - Bugge Wesseltoft uses the piano not just as an instrument, but as a resonance chamber for emotion, silence and surprise. He often dispenses with clear structures in favor of an open musical dialogue - with himself, with the room, with the listeners. His concerts are not mere performances - they are experiences that touch far beyond the purely musical.
