Amelie Farren
The young Australian is coming to Cologne in May for her German debut
Amélie Farren's music combines lyrical twists and clever metaphors to explore meaningful, often dark themes with a fresh, engaging sound. Alongside upbeat tones and playful instrumentation, her songs reveal a life of whimsical fantasy and glimmers of glory, while eerie, thought-provoking elements linger between the lines. Her emotive lyrics are laced with delicate arcs that tell a unique story in each song.
With her third single "Unsweetened Lemonade", the singer celebrated her breakthrough in January 2024, which was already in the offing on her song "suffering". Together, the two songs have over 46 million streams on Spotify and, following their single debut in 2022, laid the foundation for a career that is still in its infancy but already promises great things. Amélie Farren will be performing live in Germany for the first time on May 18 in Cologne. The club concert at Jaki promises to bring the artist and her fans very close together.
Born in 2008, Amélie Farren began singing in a choir at an early age, where she discovered her talent for singing and awakened her passion for songwriting. With a self-taught approach, she became a multi-instrumentalist in her childhood, learning violin, piano and guitar, enriching her own music with instrumental complexity and detail. In late 2022, Amélie Farren began posting videos of herself with blue dots under her eyes on the internet and quickly struck a nerve on social media with her raw, authentic and minimalist recordings and a resonating vibe of fragile longing. Following the release of her debut single "Lack of Iron", Amélie Farren celebrated her first major success with "suffering". She wrote both tracks at the age of 12, but only worked them out later. With her third single "Unsweetened Lemonade", she catapulted herself completely into the focus of her generation. The exploration of themes such as growth, resilience and self-awareness resonates particularly with young listeners who are also struggling with feelings such as inner turmoil or hopelessness. A stripped-down version of "Stripped" was followed by the song "Heaven's Gate" and other singles, the last of which was the quiet pop ballad "Codeine Coca Cola". Amélie Farren's rapid career start is now reflected in more than 5 million likes on TikTok, over 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify and a constantly growing fan community.
