CANCELLED: Diamond Thug

From a cellar in Kommetjie, a small surf town on the southernmost tip of Africa, to the most diverse stages worldwide - this is the best way to describe the musical journey of Diamond Thug, South Africa's most famous indie band.

Similarly fateful and coincidental as the creation of the universe, the band found and formed itself in the midst of the arbitrariness of life. Their music flows through and along different genres.
Indie Shuffle called it 'Space-Age Folk-Rock'. In fact, Diamond Thug blend alternative, electronica and folk with subtle South African grooves to create a unique sound.

In April 2018 they released their debut album 'Apastron' and were featured as Apple Music's New Artist Spotlight. In 12 songs they deal with themes of cosmic proportions such as love and loss, and lead to deep, remote places. Their second EP will be released in May as they tour Europe and the UK with old and new songs.

"Their music can move you, excite you and perhaps even - dare I say it - inspire you." - The Huffington Post

"Diamond Thug's come-hither voice dances through salty beach air" - Billboard

"As flawless vocals glide over soaring guitar riffs and electronic melodies, the track has clearly been created for lazy summer evenings and dancing under festival sunsets." - Wonderland

"This isn't a diamond in the rough; it's a proper gem." - DIY

"Incorporating bouncing synthesisers, afro-rhythmic drum beats and immaculate guitar playing" - Indie Shuffle
